Registered Traveller service expanded for Australian passport holders

Posted on September 13, 2015 by FCm Travel Solutions UK

Australian nationals can apply for the Registered Traveller service (RTS) to get through UK border control more quickly.

The service has been expanded to cover all categories of UK visa, with spouses, dependents, students and ancestry visa holders now able to take advantage of the fast-track eGates at UK airports.

There is no longer a requirement for a minimum number of entries to the UK per year (except for people without a visa, i.e. tourists/short-term visitors).

The scheme has also been rolled out to most major airports and to Eurostar terminals.

Successful applicants are able to use the ePassport gates (if they have a biometric passport), and faster entry lanes at Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, London City, Luton, Manchester and Stansted airports, and Brussels, Lille and Paris Eurostar terminals

It currently costs £70 to apply to use the service in the first year, with £50 refunded if an application is unsuccessful.

Over 3,000 Australians are already taking advantage of the service.  Applications can be made via this link.
