Deal struck to provide Ipass subscribers with Wi-Fi on Lufthansa flights

Ipass Open Mobile subscribers are now able to access in-flight Wi-Fi services on Lufthansa flights.

The agreement with telecommunications provider Deutsche Telekom and Lufthansa will see hotspots included in more than 100 Lufthansa planes.

Ipass is an American-based company that provides carriers with cloud-based technology and Wi-Fi services.

Enabled through Ipass’s relationship with global telecommunication provider Deutsche Telekom, users can access the service on almost every Lufthansa long-haul flight.

“We are delighted to be working with Lufthansa and Deutsche Telekom to provide our subscribers with an extended hotspot footprint,” said Marcio Avillez, VP network services and carrier product development, Ipass.

“We know there is significant demand for in-flight Wi-Fi services to help business travellers stay connected and productive. By working with Lufthansa and Deutsche Telekom, we can help our customers to work securely and productively throughout their business trips.”
