FCM Travel Solutions has scooped two places on the coveted shortlist for the 2017 Business Travel People Awards. Juan Antonio Iglesias, EMEA Director of Account Management has been named a finalist for Account Manager of the Year; and the Chancery Lane 12 Team is in line for Reservations Team of the Year.
Organised by The Business Travel Magazine, The People Awards recognise individuals and teams within travel management companies and travel suppliers whose professionalism and business excellence make them stand out from their industry peers. The winners will be individuals and teams who are judged to be outstanding performers in their field.
The Account Manager of the Year award recognises the individual who takes a proactive and consultative approach to their role in order to provide unrivalled customer service, care and value to clients. Meanwhile the Reservations Team award recognises the team that has demonstrated excellent customer service, a can-do attitude, and the ability to go the extra mile for their customers.
Juan Antonio Iglesias became EMEA Director of Account Management in 2015 after six years as a Multi-National Account Manager. Before joining FCM based in the UK, he worked for travel companies in Spain, latterly with our FCM partner in Spain, in roles across operations, IT and account management. His vast experience means that he has incomparable knowledge of all aspects of travel management and is the ‘go to’ person for his team, BDMs and senior management. Over the last year he has been the driving force behind transforming the way FCM’s Multinational Account Managers work with clients, moving from a traditional CRM perspective to a strategic, consultative approach. He has also played a pivotal role in the challenging implementation of three major global accounts.
The Chancery Lane 12 Team was set up in October 2015 purely to look after the travel needs of the UK bookers and travellers at FCM’s multi-national accounts who have a UK spend of £20k to £800k. The UK divisions of some of FCM’s larger multi-national clients were previously not receiving the appropriate level of support. While these global accounts had a spend of say £40M in the US, their spend in the UK was much smaller. Nevertheless it was vital that the UK client received the same high service levels as their US counterparts in order that FCM delivered a consistent global service. The team began with five clients, but as FCM’s multinational business grew rapidly over the last year, their portfolio has surged to around 45 clients. The team has excelled at implementing these clients, building strong relationships, handling their complex and diverse needs and delivering personal, high touch service.
Jo Greenfield, general manager FCM UK said: “Congratulations to Juan Antonio and the Chancery Lane 12 Team for making it to the final round of the People Awards. This is fantastic news and they absolutely deserve to win.
“Juan Antonio is an inspirational leader of this team and exceptionally dedicated to his clients. His work ethic is incredibly strong and since he has been at the helm, the Account Management team has retained 95% of their clients and re-signed 30% of our overall global volume. He has proactively changed the way our Account Managers work with their clients in order to align travel objectives with the client’s overall business objectives,” explains Greenfield.
“The Chancery Lane 12 team is pivotal to FCM’s business and they have risen to the challenge of managing a large portfolio with great skill, insight, tenacity and attention to detail,” adds Greenfield. “Their achievements in a relatively short timeframe have been remarkable. The team recognises how important it is that the UK divisions of our multi-national clients feel valued, even though their transaction levels are relatively small compared with the spend in other markets.”
The People Awards will be presented at a celebration lunch on Friday 26th May at Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, London.
