However, according to a 2016 GBTA survey, nearly 70% of businesses are yet to implement a mobile strategy into their travel programme, so haven't seen the advantages - both financial and operational - that mobile technology offers.
Another 2017 survey by ACTE of corporate travel buyers from around the world highlighted how business travel preferences are changing, by an increase in use of market disruptors such as shared economy lodgings, app-based transport and ride shares. This reinforces that, now more than ever, businesses should be overhauling their travel programmes and policies to include mobile technology.
