FCm Travel Solutions’ Julie Kendrick, FCm Operations Area Manager, has been named Operations Manager of the Year in the 2015 Business Travel People Awards.
Organised by The Business Travel Magazine, The People Awards recognise individuals and teams within travel management companies and travel suppliers whose professionalism and business excellence make them stand out from their industry peers. The winners are individuals and teams who are judged to be outstanding performers in their field.
The Operations Manager of the Year award recognises the individual who has demonstrated the ability to provide excellent customer service using an innovative, practical and strategic approach across operational management.
Over the last four months, Julie has played an instrumental part in implementing FCm’s largest ever account with an annual spend £18M. This was a complex implementation, involving 18 client divisions and over 1,000 travel bookers, which impacted on all parts of FCm’s business. She led the project team magnificently, engaging all stakeholders, conducting meetings and training sessions nationwide and ensured the whole process was seamless.
The judging panel, who are a highly experienced team of business travel professionals, commended Julie’s entry saying: “In an extremely competitive category, Julie demonstrated that to successfully implement a new customer, it is essential to ensure that not only are the client’s objectives understood but that all of the relevant FCm departments are involved from finance and technology, to systems and data specialists. Whilst this implementation strategy should be taken as a given, this is not always the case and, as such, Julie’s methodical approach was evidenced by client testimonials.”
In support of Julie’s entry, one client said: “Julie was irreplaceable during the very demanding and fast paced implementation process of our account. We were hard pushed against time and resource to scope the requirement, build an online solution for 19 different entities, and train almost 1,000 travel bookers. The short time that we were given to deliver this was further shortened by a two week break during Christmas, and the resource got scarcer because of flu virus infecting key implementation staff. Julie stepped in and delivered over and above our expectations, her actions have driven the team to a successful conclusion. Her enthusiasm has been contagious and her responsiveness was key in delivering the project on time. We can’t recommend her highly enough.”
